FLOATING NEST

I was contacted by the loveliest clients from North Carolina after they’d seen Blackbird’s Nest in Bozeman. We workshopped ideas for awhile before landing on this free floating nest concept, which suited the intended location in their beautifully crafted home nestled amidst a grove of trees. After months of working and their gracious patience, I gingerly drove it across country, through heavy wind advisories and the S. Appalachia mountains, from Montana to Brasstown. We hung the piece and all felt a hushed, goosebumpy moment of giddy bliss . The untethered nest felt as though it was an extension of the lush wildness outside. It found its’ home.

Materials: smalti, granite, semi-precious stones, quartz, marble, petrified wood, driftwood, metal shards, feathers, millefiori and my heart!
