PERIPETEIA

I created this piece during Covid in New Zealand. The title, ‘Peripeteia’ comes from the Greek meaning ‘sudden change,’ and between worldly and personal stuff, this seemed apropos. I set up a studio at The Exchange in Christchurch, working in a cooperative space for the first time and really enjoyed the shared energy. This mosaic is about impermanence - with an ‘always and already’ still point to return to. These ice crystals were on our car in a Montana winter eons ago, and I always knew I’d try to carry this flow forward into a piece someday! Still, my imagery was always of swimming underwater and emerging for a breath!
